Sounds of hoofbeats wchoed through the land. They clacked upon shail rock as the King made his way up the hill and toward the mouth of the giant cave. Clouds shrouded the glistening sun in their shadows. A seep sigh escaped Atrocious as he noticed this. He loved the sun, and wished it would come out so that he could enjoy it and bask in it. Yes, most darks would cringe at the warmth and brightness of the golden orb, but not this stag. Deep brown almost black occulars gazed out upon the land he would be calling his own for the time being. He could imagine vixens lined up along the rocks, waiting for his return. But when that would be he had no idea. He had hoped it would be soon but there was no telling. As far as he knew he could be the only equine that would ever be setting foot upon this Terra. But he hoped that wouldn't be the case. With a giant CRACK! in the sky, the thunder storm had begun and Atrocious had reached the opening just in time. Slowly the demon trotted into his home. The rock walls cascaded down into different tunnels that made different rooms. Each room would be his herd members chambers, their place where they could have their own peace and quiet if they so wished.

Again the lightning fell and the thunder boomed. The king lifted his dial and stared outside. He may have loved the sun, but a nice storm was always enjoyable, if you were inside somewhere. Haunches were planted firm upon the rock, as forelimbs reached for the sky in a big rear, his mighty horn barely missing the roof of the caves. A icey cold scream escaped his vocals, one that would stop a light in their tracks and make them think twice about their miserable lives. "This land is mine, and I am your King! If you dare to challenge me then step forth or forever be a coward!" His voice was deep and hellish, a tone that only Atrocious had one that seemed to come straight from the depths of hell. The brute's chestnit pelt flashed brightly as he landed with a clack. The thunder storm had become fierce and he had enough of watching it. Limbs turned him toward the tunnels. They were dark, but being an equine naturally he could see through it. He wandered through the darkness, checking out the many corridors.

Phereio City. Two years after a powerful earthquake stirred the city to its death. The human race; one of the most careless. They left the city behind- well most of them. The few that remained moved into small supportive colonies, and rarely do they emerge. When they do, they often go unnoticed by the new highly populated citizens of Phereio. The dogs. They were left too, by the humans. Left to fend for themselves. Who ever said that was a bad thing? They strive in their new kingdom. They are free now, and hopefully no one will be taking that away from them.
